Acer Aspire AS8943G continues indecipherable product naming trend

Computer manufacturers have a nasty habit of creating product lines with coding schemes that leave guessing games for most customers up until they decide to read the spec sheet…which probably won’t help the majority of users either. Thankfully it’s hard to miss the Acer Aspire AS8943G notebook on a store shelf since its 18.4″ LED back-lit, edge to edge glass covered, LCD screen is sure to catch some looks. The company’s top end model, the AS8943G-3215, announced today sports an Intel Core i5 430M processor and ATI Radeon HD 5650 Mobility dedicated graphics chip along side 640GB of storage (its dual hard drive bays is certainly a nice touch) all for a reasonable $999CAD MSRP. The lower end AS8943G-5638 makes due with an Intel Core i3 350M CPU and 500GB of storage for $939CAD.
