AMD 890FX motherboards rounded up, the budget gamer’s choice

AMD’s CPU performance has lagged Intel for a number of years now. That’s not to say that their chips don’t perform well but when you look at the other camp’s offerings it’s hard to pass up. The one saving grace for AMD is that their system chipsets have been top notch as of late so the overall platform is an intriguing proposition especially when you take the lower cost of entry into account.

The AMD 890FX chipset was released a few short months ago so you know it sports most of the features you want such as SATA 6G, up to 4 Radeon HD cards in CrossFireX mode, and that ever present AMD OverDrive software support which makes tweaking all the much easier. Inexpensive and feature rich.
