AMD Radeon HD 6870s seemingly perform the same

A reference design is a reference design meaning all things are pretty much equal regardless of what manufacturer you’re looking at so you’re going to be choosing your fancy new AMD Radeon HD 6870 based on price, warranty, software bundle, or by non-reference cooler which seemingly showed up out of nowhere to catch your eye. Sapphire and XFX are stocking store shelves with reference design AMD Radeon HD 6870 video cards while Diamond gives their version a small speed bump which should give them a slight edge if you’re the sort of person to leave their graphics card alone. Everybody else should be pleased to know that all three cards have insane overclocking potential, on both the core and memory clocks, despite their reference coolers meaning you’ll certainly improve your gaming performance by quite a bit. A tweaker’s paradise for sure.
