Apple 2010 13″ MacBook Pro squeezes in performance improvements

Apple 2010 13 inch MacBook Pro laptopCramming more performance into a notebook year after year is a difficult trick considering the power and thermal envelopes involved and it’s even more difficult when they keep the same chassis design in play.

Apple’s 2010 13″ MacBook Pro manages a larger battery and a snappy NVIDIA GeForce 320M GPU for those GPGPU dependent applications and a bit of gaming on the side. AnandTech has the review:

The performance improvement over the 9400M here isn’t as great, but still noticeable. The 320M offers 78% of the performance of the GT 330M. Overall I would call the GPU upgrade the 13-inch MacBook Pro received significant, but it’s only something you’ll notice if you’re a gamer. If you aren’t playing 3D games on your notebook, the upgrade is mostly meaningless today.
