ASUS GTX580 DirectCU II doesn’t respect your slot count

PCs used to be built around the processor and its motherboard platform but with the latest generation of graphics cards that will likely play second fiddle if you want the best cooling performance on your GPU. The ASUS GTX580 DirectCU II takes up three slots on your system case so you’d better be sure you don’t need them especially if you’re going the SLI route. With the extra space you give up you’re gaining around an 8 Celsius drop in temperature over a reference GeForce GTX 580 which is very impressive and should go a long ways to alleviating any overheating concerns especially when overclocked.
