The mid-range motherboard market has been adding quite a few nice features over the years so that the only difference between them and the truly high-end products appears to be a bit of overclocking headroom and a few more connectivity options.

The ASUS P7P55D-E Deluxe Motherboard isn’t as flashy as its high-priced cousins but it can more than hold its own in the tweaking department and includes USB3 and SATA 6G support. ProClockers has the review:

The ASUS P7P55-E Deluxe is equipped with all the “must-have” stuff everyone is looking for in a new motherboard. Possibly the top two technologies would be USB 3.0, which is pumped through the motherboard using a NEC chipset, and SATA 3.0 provided via a Marvel. As of late, these are the two biggest additions to a motherboard’s makeup. As enthusiasts, we can never have enough speed, especially when it comes to retrieving and backing up our precious data. Each of the two protocols are linked to a 4x PCIe and not th 1x lanes which ASUS credits its 2x/10x performance increase.

A sensible alternative to the high-priced boards for the LGA1156 platform.
