DigiTimes has details of plans by Compal, a run of the mill large OEM/ODM maker of rebranded gear, to phase out CRT manufacturing by 2006. CRTs have slowly been making way for LCD displays, which consumers adore, forcing CRTs into unfashionable and low-end product categories.
