Deepcool Ice Matrix 400 prefers density over surface area

Modern heatsinks rely quite a but on their fin orientation and design in order to cool off the numerous heatpipes they cram into a model so it’s common to see massive coolers that leave little room to work around a socket. The Deepcool Ice Matrix 400 employs surprisingly short fins but makes up for it with quite a few staggered fins that should make for quite a bit of turbulence that can only improve its cooling performance. While its budget design only brings a single fan along for the ride they do provide mounting hardware for a second one which will help it cool even more effectively.
