ExtremeMHz has a look at the Toshiba SD-R5372 which, at first glance, looks like any other optical drive, but it packs some speedy burning potential. The drive can write to dual-layer DVD discs at a maximum speed of 5X making it one of the fastest -DL drives available (to consumers of course).
