Macworld writes of Stanford University’s Folding@Home project reaching an important milestone in number crunching. The project has hit 1petaflop of processing power for their protein folding simulations, most of which was provided by the PlayStation 3’s Cell CPU. Impressive numbers for a project with lofty (and noble) goals.
