HD DVD in Xbox 360's Future?

GamesIndustry.biz reports on some comments by one Mr. Gates which states Microsoft is considering an HD DVD drive for future versions of their Xbox 360 console. The first shipping versions will include a standard DVD drive but if they do happen to update the optical drive in it here’s hoping for some free upgrades.
