Sapphire Radeon HD 5550 Ultimate Video Card brings the sweet sound of silence

The majority of home theater PC users like their movies loud and their HTPCs extremely quiet which is why they invest in things like sound dampening material and large slow spinning fans.

Sapphire’s Radeon 5550 Ultimate Video Card trumps any silencing measure by operating completely passively so there’s one less whining fan to worry about corralling. Pure Overclock has the review:

The Sapphire Radeon HD 5550 Ultimate is a low-power, passively cooled, budget graphics card, marketed to consumers who may be interested in something for their HTPC or the occasional foray into some light gaming. It’s almost the baby of the 5000 series Radeon cards, with the 5450 sitting one rung lower, but continues to attempt to offer good value for those people with a very moderate budget.

You won’t get blazing gaming performance but, then again, you shouldn’t be expecting that from this class of card.
