CNET News has a story on how RealNetworks argued (successfully?) to the European Commission that Microsoft’s XP Embedded OS, used in cash registers and slot machines, was proof that the software giant could indeed strip Windows Media Player without crippling XP. A large mess all around that will hopefully be solved soon.
