After the extended outage of Sony’s all-encompassing gaming/streaming/match-making PlayStation Network and the revelations that there was much more to the story than a simple lack of service. Sony has announced that they’ll slowly be bringing the PSN service back online, this week, from its massive data breach incident and will be offering some compensation to its users in addition to slapping on extra protections to their service. Of note:

  • Each territory will be offering selected PlayStation entertainment content for free download. Specific details of this content will be announced in each region soon.
  • All existing PlayStation Network customers will be provided with 30 days free membership in the PlayStation Plus premium service. Current members of PlayStation Plus will receive 30 days free service.
  • Music Unlimited powered by Qriocity subscribers (in countries where the service is available) will receive 30 days free service.
