Sun's Payday Courtesy of Microsoft

Microsoft is paying out $700 million to Sun so they can settle their antitrust lawsuit and $900 million to settle other patent issues according to this Microsoft press release. These payouts came out of nowhere but they aren’t entirely surprising due to the recent anti-trust ruling against Microsoft by the European Commission.
