T-Mobile G2 smartphone catches up to the rest of the pack

Being a generation behind in the smartphone means being all but invisible when it comes time for the well informed populace to purchase their next device. T-Mobile’s G2 smartphone shows that the company has finally stepped up their game to match the rest of the competition. The device will continue in the G1’s footsteps running Google’s Android operating system on its multi-touch 3.7″ display with a full QWERTY keyboard that stealthily hides away when not in use.

The phone makes use of a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800MHz chip which should offer plenty of performance for your applications and its 4G access speeds should make your media rich surfing much easier. Storage seems to be meager with 4GB of internal memory and support for up to 32GB more via micro SD card (8GB card is included). Impressively its 5-megapixel camera is capable of shooting 720p video if you’re into that sort of thing.

As far as launch dates are concerned the company is being quite vague but current T-Mobile customers will be able to pre-order the G2 later this month and you can sign up for news updates on their plans on their website.
