Serial ATA is meant to be an interface for newer generation hard drives and optical drives in PCs but some resourceful engineers figured that it could also serve as a great tool externally. Not having to rely solely on USB or Firewire for external drives is a good thing. Xbit labs digs deeper on the topic.
