Toshiba Canvio for Mac extends your Apple storage space

Keeping your Apple MacBook, or any computer for that matter, backed up is the best way to save yourself from an early death should your storage drive bail on you which, given the mobile nature of most Apple notebooks, is bound to happen sooner or later.

Toshiba has launched its new Canvio for Mac portable hard drive which isn’t at all nearly as sleek as the Macs it purports to support, what with its boxes all over the drive and all, but it should do the job quite nicely. The lineup sports hefty storage sizes from 500GB, 750GB, and 1TB of space and comes bundled with NTI Shadow 5 for Mac to make those system backups a little less eventful.

As far as pricing goes the 500GB drive will set you back a MSRP of $119.99 while the 750GB and 1TB drives go for $139.99 and $189.99 respectively. Interestingly they seem to be running a bit of a sale  at the moment which lobs off a decent chunk of the price so you’ll want to act soon.
