XFX Radeon HD 5870 Black Edition video cardThat fancy new graphics card of yours sure does tear through games, unfortunately there are finely tuned and tested versions from other manufacturers which promise even better performance and cooler temperatures.

The XFX HD 5870 Black Edition sports a faster clock rate and improved heatsink which should go a long way towards extra tweakability. XSReviews has a look:

How much overclocking/tweaking has actually been achieved then? Well, the stock 5870 runs at a core speed of 850MHz and memory at 1200MHz. Thus an overclock of 50MHz has been implemented to both clocks. In comparison to Sapphire’s overclocked edition of the 5870 – the Vapor-X model – the memory speed is consistent for both cards but the core speed is 30MHz higher for the XFX BE version which should offer slightly higher performance over its rival.
